Founded in 2019 in Shenyang, China, Vazen is a new company dedicated to building professional anamorphic lenses at a reasonable price. Making anamorphic lenses available for cinematographers of any level of experience to not just rent but also own their first set of lenses. Founder and Optics Engineer, Weizhen Liu brought over 15 years of first hand experience in designing photo and cinema lenses, as well as anamorphic attachments for home theater systems to create his company. Choosing to work on a 1.8x squeeze design instead of an easier and cheaper 1.33x design, Vazen creates the more cinematic look that anamorphic lovers are pursuing. The Vazen anamorphic primes deliver a very sharp image even at wide open and a cinematic wide screen look that anamorphic adapters cannot match.
